The food in Kuantan is pretty cheap, I remember before heading back to Kuala Lumpur we stopped by this chinese restaurant to eat. It was spectacular. I don't remember the restaurant name though but the food was good and the price was right as well! The minced Chicken Tofu pictured above is to die for!
The Herbal chicken is also nice. It's easy to make this dish though, I can make it as well, my mom is quite good at making this but the restaurant did a very good job making this dish as well.
This is the yam bowl with vegetable and squid. I like the yam but squid is not really my thing especially when it's cooked all slimily!
This is the talapia (a kind of fish) cooked with the asam style, basically cooked with this tomato and chili puree with lots of lemon so it has this sour and spicy taste to get rid of this particular smell that this sort of fish has. I love the sauce though!
I will definitely go back there and I would get the name of this place again soon!

Beaufort Home Cooking @ Beaufort
Beaufort is about and hour and 30 minutes drive from the capital city of Borneo, Kota Kinabalu. So I was on a road trip with my mother to visit a magical masseuse in a town near the border of Sarawak and one the way back we decided to stop by Beaufort, as the place is known for it's chinese home cooked food. The four dishes above only cost us Rm34!
This is the Pork Omelette. I think the beat the eggs until it turns foamy and then they fry it. It's really good, the inside part of the dish feels like cotton. It's so nice and flavourful! But it is a tad bit oily though!
This is the sweet and sour pork, it wasn't WOW good but it was nice. I know places that charge higher but isn't as nice as this. And, a chinese restaurant that screws up sweet and sour pork should just close down.
Im a big fan of battered prawns. And they didn't go wrong with this. I like mayo as well, and well, it's gooooooddddd, but not wow good. Wow good would be fried battered TIGER prawns. That would be awesome! But for rm34 for everything. I ain't complaining!
This is fried local vegetable with pork slices and lardy sauce. It's a staple to Beaufort cooking and I can just eat this alone. The food in general was really good, and I recommend it not because it's GOOOOODDDD but because it's value for money, however, only stop by if you are driving past Beaufort town! There are loads of these kind of places there!

Tamparuli Mee @ Tamparuli Town
So Sabah, which is a Malaysian state located in Borneo, is famous for several food. One of them being the Tamparuli Noodles that are found in Tamparuli, a 30 minute drive away from Borneo's capital city, Kota Kinabalu. The noodles are basically egg noodles, but it's made in a different way and the texture differs from any other noodles. This is truly a unique noodle found only in Sabah and it can be cooked in several ways (soup, fried etc). So the dish above, the Tamparuli Mee, can be found in a restaurant located next to the only bank in Tamparuli town, which is the Bank Simpanan Nasional. THe pork, eggs and vegetable they garnish this fried noodles with is just awesome, and the lard as well as the sesame oil used are also good. I can tell you that I am willing to drive for thirty minutes to have this Rm3.50 plate of heaven!

Chinese Food @ Bandar Sunway
There's this dodgy place run by an old married couple. I like to call this place Uncle & Aunty, I don't actually know the name of the place, but I know it's located in Pjs7 in Sunway and it's really dodgy. For those of you who are particularly particular on things like cleanliness, this place is not for you. However, the food here is quite good, The minced pork tofu (pictured above) is only Rm5.50.
The dish above is the Choy Sum cooked with Roasted pork. It's mediocre, and I must admit it's a little too salty. But I needed a dish that is green in colour. And the price is also about Rm5.50.
Now their best seller is the Butter chicken, the 'butter' sauce that they use is mostly made out of condensed milk and cream and it is quite good. I like the added green chillies and the curry leaves. It's really good especially when eaten with rice. Calories wise, well, this is a killer but it's oh so good.
Once again the cleanliness of the place is totally off.

The One @ Kota Damansara
So I met up with some of my friends at The One in Kota Damansara, it's located near Sunway Giza Mall near Papa Rich. My friend ordered the Thai Fried Rice. It's really spicy, and I like the added crumbs that they put into the dish. It was good, but it's not WOW good. It is worth the Rm9.80 though!
But the dish that I had above, which is the Salmon salad, only cost me Rm8.80. It's so good! I like how 'light' it is. And you can also eat the bowl, it's some in some cracker bowl and you can eat it! I didn't eat the bowl though. And the salad only cost me Rm8.80! Well worth it!

Dinner @ T.G.I.F Sunway Pyramid
I had a dinner date in Sunway Pyramid's T.G.I Fridays and the food was quite good. My friend ordered the Seafood Marinara and man it was good. The taste of the sauce was just nice, the spicyness is just nice and the infusion of the seafood with the sauce was really good. They were quite generous on the seafood as well. I would definitely order this again!
Sticking to my no carb diet, I ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad. I absolutely love the dressing, I think they mixed a little orange juice with some balsamic vinegar as the dressing, the grilled chicken was very good and I like the mixture of oranges and greens. The balance of sweet and salty were there and the zest definitely added some extra Emph!

Damn Good Pork Chop @ Damansara Perdana
Theres this Chinese Food Court between Hong Leong Bank and Ah Fai restaurant in Damansara Perdana that serves really really go pork chop! I was beyond surprised when I ate it. The marinade, the sauce, the garnish was absolutely perfect. And I only paid Rm9.80 for it. I would have paid Rm 30 for this dish and still think that it's pretty decent. So for Rm9.80, I would recommend you to try this!

Curry Soup and Dimsum @ Bandar Sunway Pjs 7
So there are these dodgy apartments in Sunway City, I used to eat here every morning when I was still staying here. So since I was on my way to campus, I decided to stop by and have breakfast. I ordered the Curry Soup, with tofu and wantons. It's fairly decent but it's value for money as it only cost me Rm3. It's nothing to rave about but the price is worth it.
However, the siew mai dim sum is my absolute favorite in the shop. They bought it from some random supplier but at Rm2 a pop, it's cheap as compared to other places. I love the taste of these babies and damn I always leave with a smile on my face after having lunch here! It's seriously damn worth it for the price!

Janggut @ Hilltop Kota Kinabalu
So Janggut which means beard in Malay is a restaurant that serves reasonably good Tom Yam in Kota Kinabalu. Apart from their Tom Yam, they are also known for their home made tofu and fried noodles. Pictured above is the Chicken TomYam heavily garnished with Coriander and Bean Sprouts. I like how the soup is mixed with coconut milk to give it a very thick feel. However, this will set you back around Rm7.50 and is quite costly for a typical coffee shop food.
The fried noodles below are also really great. I like the use of chillies and coriander when they fry the noodles as it gives the dish a punch on flavors, it's hard to find dishes that are light but at the same time has so much flavor to it. It's totally worth a visit!

Fatty Crab @ Taman Megah
Fatty Crab has been around the scene for quite some time and is quite famous for it's chilli crab, especially in the Muslim community. The restaurant is constantly full and I am lucky to have one of the owner's son as a good friend. So I was brought to the restaurant to have a nice and FREE dinner. I must say that the Chicken Wing (pictured above) is really really good, I like the way they fried the chicken and the marinade that goes with it is really good!
The Fried Rice at Fatty Crab is also nice, it's not overly flavored and the mixture of the ingredients like beans, carrots and prawns really suit the dish well. But then again, what kind of Chinese restaurant can screw up fried rice? This is good though, I must admit!
This is the signature dish, the Chilli Crab, I'm not a big fan of crabs, because I'm too damn lazy to pry it open, you can say that it's maximum effort for minimum pleasure and I prefer soft shell crabs. The sauce however is really good, it's not WOW good but its good. The malay community seems to really like the sauce though as compared to their chinese counterpart, so if your taste palate is more malay, you would appreciate this dish even more than I would. The sauce is also really good with toasted bread!

Beef Noodles @ Kah Hiong Hilltop Kota Kinabalu
This is a restaurant I went to quite some time ago that serves the best Beef Noodle soup! Pictured above is the noodles mixed with a special chinese soy sauce, i think its a mixture of various soy sauce, sesame oil and pepper. It's then garnished with some minced beef and spring onions. Quite nice! I like the mixture of the eggs noodles and the sauce.
This is the Beef soup, its basically beef parts (balls, tripe, meat) etc along with some winter melon cooked in beef broth and garnished with spring onions. It is very nice but I don't like the fact that they add in so much MSG into the dishes! But it is worth a visit! It's damn good!
